Ixara
Via Lactea · 340 Light-Years · Classification Level 7
Planet Profile
Ixara orbits a binary star system at a distance that produces a constant pale lavender sky, neither fully dark nor fully bright. Its surface is defined by vast crystalline plains, deep canyon formations, and a near-total absence of liquid water. The atmosphere is thin but breathable by human standards — a detail that researchers consider unlikely to be coincidental. Ixara is the closest inhabited world to Earth in the known registry. This proximity has not gone unnoticed by its inhabitants.
Biology
The Ixari evolved in conditions of extreme cognitive pressure — a dense electromagnetic environment produced by the binary star system accelerated neural development across generations. Their elongated cranial structure houses a significantly expanded prefrontal cortex, enabling cognitive processes that have no direct equivalent in human neuroscience. Their pale skin carries subtle spotted pigmentation patterns that function as passive biological sensors, detecting electromagnetic fluctuations in the surrounding environment. They appear almost human. The difference is entirely in what occurs behind the eyes.
Distinctive Traits
Uniform light grey skin across the entire body, distinctive domed and folded cranial structure housing expanded neural architecture, pointed ears with enhanced auditory range, near-human facial structure with subtle but unmistakable differences, exceptional cognitive processing speed, biological compatibility with human subjects rated as unusually high.
Culture
The Ixari are researchers. This is not a metaphor. Their entire civilization is structured around the systematic study of other species — their biology, their behavior, their limits. They do not consider this invasive. They consider it thorough. Contact with Ixari subjects is often described by human participants as calm, almost clinical. It is only afterward that the full implications of the encounter become clear. By then, the data has already been collected.

Designation
Xurela
Species
Ixari (referred to as "Ixarians" by humans)
Height
1.83 m
Weight
61 kg
Planet of Origin
Ixara
Distance from Earth
Approximately 340 light-years
Description
A female humanoid of striking and disquieting appearance. Her skin is a uniform light grey, almost white, smooth and faintly luminous across her entire body. Her cranial structure is the most immediately striking feature — elongated and partially domed on the lateral sections, with visible organic folds that give the impression of a natural headpiece, though it is entirely her own anatomy. Her pointed ears emerge directly from this domed structure, reinforcing the sense of a species shaped by evolution into something that hovers between the organic and the architectural. Her facial features are close to human — close enough to produce an instinctive sense of recognition, followed immediately by the awareness that something is fundamentally wrong. She wears a fitted white and silver armored suit with a distinctive perforated pattern, geometric detailing and mechanical elements at the joints. Her eyes are dark, still, and attentive in a way that suggests she has already finished thinking whatever she began thinking when she first looked at you.
Note
The name Xurela was assigned by research teams following phonetic analysis of Ixari communication patterns. The Ixari acknowledged the designation without comment. They have since used it themselves, which researchers consider either a courtesy or a data point. Possibly both.
